William Connors, M.A., CCC-SLP :: Founder/Executive Director
Bill has 30 years experience in aphasia therapy including 28 years as Director of Speech Therapy at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Passavant Hospital. Bill concurrently served as Chairman of Speech/Language Pathology for the 17 hospital UPMC system. He was the Founder and Director of the Pittsburgh Aphasia Treatment Research and Education Center. He authored the publication Coordinated Materials for Aphasia Therapy (COMAT 1) and is the Founder and Facilitator of the Aphasia Support Group of Western Pennsylvania. Most recently, Bill has founded and is the Executive Director of the Aphasia Center of Innovative Treatment and its on-line self-help website, aphasiatoolbox.com, while maintaining a separate private therapy practice.
His formal education includes a B.A., Secondary Ed/English, University of Pittsburgh, 1971; an M.A., Speech/Language Pathology, University of Pittsburgh, 1976; and post-graduate study at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Computer Assisted Instruction.
Joseph Miller, M.S., Information Sciences :: Director of Information Technology
Joe has over 25 years experience in various information technology positions. He began his career in 1981 with NCR Corporation as a software programmer and served as both a Field Service Engineer and Field Service Manager with West Penn Data Service. He was the Director of Information Technology for Howard Hanna Holdings, a large Pittsburgh based Real Estate Holding Corporation, and was the Manager/E-Systems Delivery Team for Development Dimensions International (DDI). Joe has his own Information Technology Consultant company, CompuEnergy.
His formal education includes an A.A., Electronics, Penn Technical Institute; a B.S., Electrical Engineering Technology, Point Park University; an M.S., Information Sciences, University of Pittsburgh; and a Professional Certification as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, MSSQL Server.
Charles Hobbs, M.B.A. :: Director of Operations/Marketing
Chuck has over 30 years experience in advertising, media sales, and media management. His experience includes advertising agency media research and buying at Campbell-Ewald Advertising, local radio sales at WJR-FM, and national radio sales at R.A.R. (Westinghouse Broadcasting). He served as General Sales Manager at both WPNT-FM and WPTT-TV, as well as General Manager, WPTT. His experience includes a stint as National Sales Manager, Pittsburgh magazine and Market Manager, Viacom Outdoor. He also has experience in television programming distribution sales management. Most recently, he has been involved in several start-up companies.
His formal education includes a B.A., Communications, Michigan State University; an M.A., Speech, Wayne State University; and an M.B.A., Advanced Management Program, Michigan State University.
